2nd round of audience research

Here is our second round of audience research

After looking at our first round of audience research questions we looked at how many people's favourite bands were Indie. There were four people. So for our second round of audience research we only asked four people. Due to time constraints we did not get time to edit the other two people onto the end of the video, but this is what they said.

The first question: How many members do you expect to see in an Indie band?

One person said they liked to see four people.
The last person said they liked to see three people.

The second question: What do you expect to see in an Indie music video?

One person said they expect to see the band members having a lot of fun.
The last person said they expect to see the band performing.

The third question: Do you prefer to see the band or a narrative?

One person said they like to see a narrative as it is nice to see a story going with the lyrics.
The last person said they prefer to see the band as they get to know more about them.

The fourth question: How many songs do you expect to see on an album?

One person said they excpect to see at least 8.
The last person said they expect to see 12 maximum.

The fifth question: What do you expect to see as the front cover of an Indie cd?

One person said they like to see mild colours and something different.
The last person said they like to see the band members on the front looking happy and having fun.

The sixth question: What do you expect to see on an advert?

One person said they like to see the band or the cd cover. As long as they can tell who/what it is.
The last person said they like to what other people have said about the album = critics views.

The seventh question: What information do you like to see on an advert?

One person said they like to see what the album is called and when it is going to be out to buy.
The last person said they like to see where they can buy the album.

The final question: Do you like seeing the band on the advert?

One person said yes as then they can easilt tell who the band is.
The last person said yes also.

Once we collated our second round of audience research we realised that when we were creating our music  video we needed to make sure that:

  • It is really fun to watch
  • The band are included within the music video
  • You see the band performing without a narrative
  • There should be at least three or four members in the band
When creating our digipack we need to make sure that we include:
  • The digipack to be fun
  • To be a bit different to other digipacks
  • To have bright colours so that the digipack stands out
  • To have at least ten songs on the album
  • To possibly show the band on the front cover
When creating our advert we need to make sure we include:
  • Where we can buy the album from
  • When the album is out for sale
  • The band on the advert or the album cover on the advert
  • Reviews of the album
After analysing our audience research we can now begin to make our music video, digipakc and advert.

  1. Hi folks, I can't seem to see the youtube link of your music video, nor can I detect a whiff of a completed evaluation. Can we rectify this pronto please.
    Thanks
